JMC Drywall Ltd carries out dry lining, tape and jointing, plastering, floor screed, render, metal stud partitions and ceilings on new-build housing. Each trade can be priced alone or as one package, with a named contracts manager on every job. We are a registered installer with Saint-Gobain Weber, British Gypsum, Knauf and K Rend.
Services
The services we provide
- Dry liningDry lining is the fixing of plasterboard to the inside of walls and ceilings, on adhesive dabs or on a timber or metal frame. It gives a flat, dry surface ready for jointing or a skim of plaster.
- Tape and jointingTape and jointing is the finishing of plasterboard without a full coat of plaster. The joints between boards are taped, filled with jointing compound and sanded smooth, leaving a surface ready for decoration.
- PlasteringPlastering is the application of wet plaster to a wall or ceiling to give a smooth, hard finish. On new-build housing it is most often a thin skim coat over plasterboard, or two coats over blockwork.
- Metal stud partitionsA metal stud partition is a non-loadbearing internal wall built from a light steel frame of floor track, ceiling track and vertical studs, lined on both sides with plasterboard. The board and any insulation in the frame set its fire and sound performance.
- InsulationWe install quilt and rigid insulation into walls, floors and ceilings to meet our clients' specified thermal requirements.
- CeilingsA metal frame (MF) ceiling is plasterboard fixed to a steel grid hung from the structure above, which gives a smooth ceiling with no visible joints. A suspended ceiling is a grid hung below the structure that carries lay-in tiles and leaves a void for services.
- Floor screedFloor screed is a layer laid over the structural floor, and often over insulation and underfloor heating pipes, to give a level surface for the floor finish. It is laid as a flowing liquid screed or as traditional sand and cement.
- RenderRender is a coating applied to the outside walls of a building to keep out the weather and give the finished appearance. Through coloured render carries its colour in the mix, so the wall needs no paint.
- Insulated renderInsulated render is a system of insulation boards fixed to the outside wall, covered with a reinforced base coat and a render finish. It insulates the wall and weatherproofs it in one build-up.
